(Not my picture from the web!)

As you know 22q is a disorder caused when a small part of chromosome 22 is missing.

With that being said I have struggled daily with anxiety.

This is also part of many possible symptoms that come with when having 22q deletion syndrome. I have 22 ways how I deal with anxiety.

But I would like to add a quote or more so advice that I have learned from my mom witch is " That you can be down for a moment, you just can't live there.

" That's what my Mom has taught me and I will always keep that in mind.

What is anxiety - Fear characterized by behavioral disturbances

1· Talk about it if you have some who you feel comfortable with don't stay in silence. For me, I always talk to my mom.

2· Try writing, this is how I started a blog. Sharing my life has helped me distress. And it's another way for me to let go and talk it out.

(If you need someone I'll have a  number at the end for you.)

3· I have realized having a Routine has helped me. Doing this makes my life a bit easier by always sticking to the same thing.

4· Getting sunlight & stepping outside. I've been doing this a lot especially since being home when the coronavirus pandemic happen.

.

5· Do a spa day or night, this is something I always do. I love doing a good hair mask, face mask, doing my nails. Also did you know Himalayan salt lamps release negative ions into the air, which reduces anxiety and gives a relaxing, peaceful environment for sleep.

. Lavender lotion and lavender pillow spray is always relaxing. Along with some puppy, cuddles are always good!!

6 ·Have some tea I heard that chamomile helps reduce anxiety & depression relax you.

7· Have a creative Outlet doing something you enjoy. For me, I love blogging, makeup, or crafts.

8· Go to your happy place! For me, I always think about a flower field of my favorite flowers sunflower and peony. Or I think about Seeing my family or nephew and my fur baby.

10· Make a schedule if there's something that's triggering you... Put it into your week that way you don't keep pushing it off.

11· I don't know if you enjoy this but this has always helped me. It's cleaning and organizing, It makes me feel so proud that I did something.

12· Get dressed as simple as this sounds staying when you stay in your PJ's it won't help. Simple getting ready for you're self will change your mood.

13· unplugged for the day/ night have time for yourself to reflect.

14· If you have a pet like a dog or a cat. I have a dog and he has helped me with my anxiety and depression ( I have a blog about him link here-https://gracierenee.wixsite.com/website/post/why-a-dog-like-simon-helped-me-with-22q )

15· Go for swimming! Will, if you can go for a swim, has always relaxed me something about it that makes me feel relax and sleepy after it.

16· Go shopping & get some Starbucks. if you can do some retail therapy. I love shopping and treating my self along with getting Starbucks.

17· Try working out sometimes working out is a way to blow off some steam.

18· Play some music have a jam out session.

19· Set and say "I can do this!!" as you breathe. Just take a minute before you actually start your day.

20· Read a book and sit outside

21· If you have your license try going for a drive!

22· Try having a good day! Doing your favorite things.  And always remember " you can be there for a moment just can't stay there."
