A letter to my first niece or nephew!

Becoming an aunt is an exciting moment, but it comes with some responsibility of your own, too.

My sister and brother-in-law are expecting their first child (who happens to be the first grand child/niece or nephew to my immediate family, we're all very excited to meet the little nugget. 

My beautiful sister is starting to show and glow. Everyone found out on thanksgiving it was such a beautiful moment to see everyone reactions. I was so happy that they told everyone cause I can finally write you this letter. Now in that moment I realize that I get to play a big role in you’re life. So here’s my letter to you my little nugget... 

Hi baby, 

You’re favorite tia here. I’ve been thinking about the important role I will play in your life. I already love you more than I could ever explain, and I wanted to write you a letter in case you ever wonder how much I actually love you or what promises I have already made you... 

I promise to be the "cool" tia  and the accountable tia. You want to eat junk food, watch movies, go to the park, and be a kid. I’m your girl. I am actually an adult, even though I look like a teenager, but I am also a complete goofball, so I know that we will have lots of fun together. We are going to make so many memories that you and I will have for Just the two of us.

But, I also promise that I will talk some sense into you if need to be, because I don’t want you to grow up to be an awful person. I want you to have the most amazing, fulfilling, loving life. 

I promise we will have a genuine relationship. we will have a special relationship because I won’t be an absentee tia . I am always going to be present in your life. I know that you will know my face and name. I know that You will get so excited when your mom or dad tells you I am coming to see you (I’ll be even more excited, guaranteed). 

I promise I will nurture our relationship from the day you are born. Although it might be a completely one-sided relationship for a little bit, but I am all in. You can count on me.

I really want you to know you can  tell me anything. I promise you can trust me little one. And I'm so excited to hear all about your first crush, first mistake, first kiss, first everything.

I really hope and pray by the time all of this happens (many years from now) that you feel comfortable enough to tell me. Because I won’t tell you’re Secret, I also want you to know if you every feel like you’re mom or dad just don’t understand you. Or you need someone to talk to I’m only a call away. Always know baby G that I will respect what you tell me, and as long as it isn’t a harmful to you or anyone else, I will be there to listen and keep your secrets. Just tell mom or dad can I call my Tia Gracie and I will listen and love you no matter baby G. 

I also promise to support your mom and dad in any way that I can because they are going to be the ones you rely on the most. 

I promise to be someone to rant to when your mom is frustrated, oh and that’s goes for you’re dad too. 

Baby g I also promise to tell you how amazing your parents are and how they are two of the most amazing people in my life. 

I promise to love your family wholeheartedly and do everything in my power to make sure all three (maybe more one day) of you see the best versions of each other. Even if you all don't like each other sometimes that's normal.

I promise to constantly lift you up and instill an assurance in yourself that no one can alter. 

I promise to be your champion and cheer you on through every different experience. 

I promise to be a role model. 

I promise to make sure you stay healthy and active. 

I promise to have your back at all times. 

I promise to give you advice whenever you ask. 

I promise to be you’re best friend .

I promise to love you no matter what.

I promise to always always tell to be you're self be a kid and have fun.

I promise i will always have snacks in my purse no matter how old you get.

I promise that we can have sleepovers

I promise to make sure you get kisses from puppies, so you love and respect animals as you grow up.  Especially since we all have puppies around here. 

I promise that simon (my dog) and otis (grandpa and grandma dog) will love you

I promise to give the best hugs and cuddles.

I promise to always protect you. 

I promise to be kind and caring to you. 

I promise to never stop telling you to chase your dreams. 

I also promise to be the very best version of myself for you. Even this crazy tia of yours

makes mistakes. 

I want to know to love other’s even if there a little different. I’m sure you’re parents will teach you that anyways. But I will tell you that too, only because your tia gracie is a little different then you’re other tia’s. But just know I love you even if I’m a little different. 

Most importantly, I promise to love you unconditionally. I will show my love for you through my actions and words. You won’t ever doubt how much I love you and nothing you say or do will ever make me love you any less. 

There's this saying that love is the foundation of every family, and believe me there is a ridiculous amount of love in our family--you will probably feel smothered at times trust me ha ha by how much you are loved--but I can promise you will never feel unloved. You will grow up being the most loved niece/nephew in history.
